Karolinska Institutet, Sweden
Division of Innovative Care Research
The Swedish Magnet4Europe research team consists of Prof. Lars E Eriksson, Dr. Rikard Lindqvist Dr. Lisa Smeds Alenius and is based at Karolinska Institutet (KI), Department of Learning, Informatics, Management and Ethics (LIME), Division of Innovative Care Research. The division has around 20 scientific staff members and is headed by Prof. Lars E Eriksson.
The division of Innovative Care focus on conducting high quality, health care science-relevant research through multi-disciplinary collaboration by connecting research grounded in health care sciences with life sciences, social sciences and art/design and by linking research with education and practice to improve its translation into practice. Research areas include health care workforce, organization, implementation, knowledge transfer and change management integrated with a focus on studying experiences of different aspects of potentially life-threatening but often long-lasting conditions such as cancer and HIV.
A theoretical and methodological common denominator is a focus on stakeholder experiences to generate new knowledge.
Within the Magnet4Europe project, the team at KI is leading Work Package 4 – Implementation monitoring and evaluation – with the two-folded objectives of evaluating the intervention process, adaptation, reach and quality, mechanisms of impact such as participants’ responses, mediators, unexpected pathways and consequences. As well as, exploring barriers and enablers of implementation and the experiences of the change process by analysing data generated by interviews and focus groups with health professionals, patients, mid-level managers, and hospital executives.
