Just as December is characterized by waiting for the Christmas holidays, for the employees of the Bremerhaven Reinkenheide Clinic (KBR) it seems to be characterized by waiting for positive changes as a result of the Magnet4Europe study.
To this purpose, various projects were initiated in the spring of 2021. On the one hand, we launched a poster campaign with the goal of making the concept of Magnet® understandable and keeping it present. One of our main concerns was to make the underlying Magnet principles clear to our employees. In the form of posters, an attempt was made to capture the essence of the Magnet principles in a short sentence. The posters were distributed to all stations of the KBR, backed up by employees from the Magnet working groups.

Another major project was the creation of a professional practice model. Nursing needs a vision. And a vision is only worth something if it is genuine and authentic and as many people as possible can identify with it. To this end, more than 100 KBR employees were asked what nursing means to them and what they thought nursing was all about. Based on these results and taking into account the care models practiced at our hospital, it was possible to create the professional practice model.

The next major project is the creation of so-called "Magnet® packages". Behind this are components of Magnet that are to be implemented for successful certification. The individual stations will have the opportunity to choose between different packages next year. In this way, we want to trigger and initiate further changes bit by bit. Because this is another way to get there. The intention of these measures is to create positive change and to make Magnet tangible.

In this spirit, the KBR Magnet team wishes all other Magnet members and participants a Merry Christmas and, despite the difficult times, reflective and especially relaxed days.
